Installation & security safety
An entry door is a security and weather element and must be installed by a specialist into a sound, square opening, fixed to the structure as the maker specifies, and sealed and weatherproofed all round — a door's security and insulation performance only holds if it is fitted correctly, plumb and square. Keep to the stated size and handing, use the specified fixings, and have the locking and seals adjusted on fitting. A smart lock or door is also an electrical device: keep a mechanical key or override, change the batteries in good time, and don't rely on it alone. Doors are heavy and a two-person job to handle. CE marked where applicable.

An item must be returned complete and, where possible, in its original packaging; a door that has been cut, trimmed or installed cannot be returned, as it cannot be refitted safely. Unused, uncut doors and accessories may be returned within the withdrawal period.
